Took the bass amp, keyboard amp, to schoo. Talked with the saxophone star who won't join the group, wants to interrupt all the time--hey, take turns already! Talent has to be moderated by character and goodwill. I will limit the choices of notes when I do it again, I will probably assign notes, or assign section leaders.
Am excited to be going to hear my friend Don play tonight with his 11-piece Texas swing band. The fiddle player is supposed to be great, and I have wanted to hear this bass player for a long time. Don played some of his cowboy songs at my house this past Friday: I am interested to hear them with Bobby Black on pedal steel guitar (the best player in the area!)
